Fantom of the Dome

After Gaucho Joe, the famed Gaucho mascot, went into retirement, there was a void at the Thunderdome. The fans had lost their sparkplug. They were a crowd searching for a leader. Someone to fire them up at timeouts. Someone to direct them in the cheers. Someone who could carry them to the promised land. And there was no one.

Until the Fantom flew into town, that is. For the last several years, the "Fantom of the Dome" has entertained Gaucho fans. Donned in a black cape, a Zoro mask, a UCSB basketball jersey, black gloves, and jean shorts, the Fantom has established himself as the best mascot in the Big West Conference.

With his energetic routines, his impressive dancing ability, his rapport with the refs, and his YMCA savvy, the Fantom is a true master mascot, earning the distinction as the Champion of Cheer, the Lord of Loud, the King of Crowds, and certainly the Ghost with the Most.
