UCSB Chants

If you are going to be a UCSB fan you will need to learn how to handle yourself at games. Here are some "must knows":

Olé, Olé, Gauchos!
UCSB's trademark chant (until Stanford stole it - as if olé, olé has anything to do with a cardinal). It's like the soccer chant, "Olé, Olé, Olé, Olé, Gauchos, Gauchos" while jumping up and down.

Beat Long Beach! Beat Cal Poly!!
Yes you have friends there, but this transcends friendship.

Stand-Up!
If you venture into the student section at a basketball game don't expect to sit-down. Sitting is only permitted during time-outs and half-time.

GAU-CHOS, GAU-CHOS!
Another classic, it's like a two armed tomahawk while slowly chanting Gau-chos, Gau-chos.

Fantom Says
If all else fails, follow the Fantom of the Dome's lead.

Wing it, Baby!
What's cool about UCSB is our creativity. The best chants are made up on the fly. "Start the tractor" for Cal Poly or "We don't live in Idaho." So come out & help make some cheers!
