UCSB Band

The UCSB Pep Band, affectionately called the "Pep Explosion," has entertained thousands of fans during UCSB Men's and Women's basketball games. The band is comprised solely of students, is run by a student, and has been earning a reputation throughout the college sports world. The band was very popular with the CBS cameras during the 2002 NCAA Men's Basketball tournament in Albuquerque, and showed Santa Barbara's true colors in Indiana where, in the middle of winter, they strutted into the Purdue University arena wearing Hawaiian shirts and shorts. Musicians of all skill levels are invited and encouraged to participate. If you are looking for excitement, there's nothing better than joining the UCSB Pep Explosion!
