Santa Barbara, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara women’s cross country team dominated the Cal Poly Mustangs in a dual meet for the second straight year at UCSB’s Campus Lagoon, winning by a 21-34 score.

With five of the top eight finishers, the Gauchos recorded the easy victory on the five kilometer course. Sophomore Katie Appenrodt led the way and in the procerss set a Campus Lagoon personal best with a time of 18:04.

Junior Ali Pearson ran a personal best 18:43, improving her prevous mark by 17 seconds and defeating all but one Mustang runner.

Sophomores Jen Blair, Lisa Dunn and Sarah High finished fifth, seventh and eighth respectively to contribute to the Gaucho victory.
