2006 Cross Country -- Was part of the team that took 9th at Nationals... ran 18:02 at the home-opener Lagoon Open... Was 5th for the Gauchos in the Roy Griak Invitational, where the team finished in 1st place... Ran a personal best of 21:41 for the 6k at Pre-Nationals... Was 10th at the Big West Championships and earned All-Conference honors.
2007 Track & Field -- Ran a 17:33 5k to open the season... Ran 4:44 in the 1500m at the Northridge Invite, but suffered an injury that lingered throughout the remainder of the season... Finished the season strongly, coming back from injury to place 8th in the 10k in the Conference Championships.
2006 Track & Field -- Focusing on the longer distances, Hitchner set personal bests in the middle of the season before coming down with a bout of heat exhaustion at the Cal Poly SLO - UCSB Dual which left her unable to run at full strength at the Big West Championships. At the Cal-Nev Championships she ran a Big West qualifying 18:09.87 and then two weeks later in the rain at the Pomona Invite set a 1500m best of 4:49.73.
2005 Cross Country -- A fine Freshman season by the Half Moon Bay native, had her on the top seven traveling squad all year. At the Home Opener, Hitchner finished 12th in 19:05 over 5,000m and a week later finished in the top twenty-five of the UCI Invite with a time of 19:13. She suffered some mid-season setbacks, but then bounced back for the Big West Championships where she finished right behind Domenichelli in 16th place with a 6,000m time of 21:58 coming across the line as the Gauchos fourth runner. At the NCAA West Regional Championships, she again was UCSB's fourth runner, finishing in 92nd place.
High School -- Continually improving throughout the year, Hitchner found herself qualifying for the CA State Championships with a 5:02.71 personal best at the Central Coast Section 1600m finals. Her mark ranked 39th in the state. At 3200m she also set a personal best when it counted running 11:18.47 at the CCS Semi-finals. Off the track Hitchner excelled as well as Half Moon Bay High's '05 Valedictorian.
Personal -- In her senior year of track she was coached by UCSB alumnus Chris White (#2 All-Time at 10,000m) She also danced ballet for 15 years and studied the piano for 10 years.
