As the number two seed in the Pacific Regional, the UC Santa Barbara Gaucho women’s volleyball team has been selected to host the first and second round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, December 2nd and Friday, December 3rd.

UCSB will face Oral Roberts in the first round on Thursday in the Thundedome, thirty minutes after the conclusion of the Loyola Marymount and Southeast Missouri State match, slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. The winner of the two opening round matches will play on Friday at 7:30 p.m., also in the Thunderdome.

The top four seeds in the Pacific Region (in order), are Stanford, UCSB, Nebraska and Texas. The Mountain region includes Hawaii, Long Beach State, Colorado State and Texas A&M. The East has Pacific, Florida, BYU and Clemson and the Central includes Penn State, Pepperdine, UCLA and USC.

UCSB is one of four schools (the others are Penn State, Stanford and Pacific) to have competed in all 20 NCAA Tournament Championships (since 1981).
