Jessica comes in with a very high level of experience at the high school and club levels. She will compete for time at setter.
High School
Played at Esperanza High School under coach Isaac Owens... Helped the Aztecs to the CIF Division I-AA Championship in 2005 for which she earned All-CIF accolades...The Aztecs were also State Regional semi-finalists in 2005...Earned All-Sunset League honors in both 2005 and 2006...Was her team's co-captain during both her junior and senior campaigns...A four-year member of the honor roll and was active in the California Scholarship Federation as well as the National Honor Society...Served as the senior class treasurer.
Club
Played club volleyball with Golden West...Helped team to a 2006 silver medal at Junior Olympics in the 17 American Club Division...Also earned a silver medal at the 2007 Volleyball Festival in Reno, Nev.
Personal
Jessica Danielle Welch was born on Nov. 21, 1988 in Yorba Linda, Calif...Parents are Claudia and Dan Welch...Has three older siblings: Chris, Kari and Megan...Outside of volleyball she enjoys going to the beach and the movies, reading and skiing....Most memorable athletic achievement was winning CIF....Names her mother, Claudia, as her personal hero.
