A very talented and physical player, Stacey is going to train mainly to play the middle and will also compete to play the right side. She touches over 10 feet and has great potential physically.
High School
Played at Marina High School where she was team captain, team kills leader and Most Valuable Player in 2005 and 2006 under head coach Brad Simons...A three-year varsity letterwinner, she helped the Gladiators to a CIF Division IA appearance in 2006...Named First Team All-Sunset League during both her junior and senior years...Was a Scholar-Athlete for all four years of her prep career and was tops amongst four-year letterwinners with a 4.1 GPA...Earned Los Angeles Times Orange County Edition Player of the Week honors after posting 29 kills against cross-town rival Edison...Was voted Most Athletic Female of her senior class at Marina HS...Graduated with honors.
Club
Played club ball with TCA for four years under coach Neil Mason...On the TCA 18-1 team, she earned a gold medal at the 2006 National Girls Junior Olympics Open Championship in Atlanta, Ga....In 2007 her team took third in the 18-open championship...The same year, her team won three qualifiers and placed second in Las Vegas...In 2005 she earned all-tournament honors as her 16-1 team took gold at the Junior Olympics Invitational in Louisville, Ky.

Stacey Brianne Schmidt was born on March 5, 1989 in Anaheim, Calif. to Debbie and Craig Schmidt...Has a younger brother named Jacob...Enjoys playing beach volleyball...Has yet to declare a major at UCSB...Lists roller coasters and surfing as her hobbies...Her favorite movie is "Forrest Gump"...Most memorable athletic achievement was winning Junior Olympics in 2006.
