Following a tremendous freshman year, she has continued to improve and will play all six rotations and see playing time on both the right and left sides.
2006
Parlayed a solid first campaign in the blue and gold into All-Big West Freshman Team honors...Started all but one match with UCSB and is third among returning players with 2.28 kills per game...Opened her freshman camapaign with four consecutive double-digit kill performances including a career-high 25 kills and 10 digs vs. San Jose State (Sept. 2)...Amassed 11 total double-digit kill performances during the season...Hit a season-best .625 (10k, 0e, 16a) vs. Ohio (Sept. 16)...Tops amongst returning players with 32 service aces (0.28 per game) and posted a career-best six aces against UC Davis (Sept. 20)...Was third on the team averaging 0.80 blocks per game and tallied a season-best seven block assists against Pepperdine (Oct. 10) and a season-best three solo blocks vs. UC Irvine (Oct. 27).
High School
Enjoyed a standout four-year varsity career at Redondo Union High School...Ranked 68th nationally among PrepVolleyball.com's "Senior Aces" in 2005, when she was also a Volleyball Magazine "Fab 50" selection...First Team All-Bay League honoree every season as well as First Team All-Area and First Team All-CIF acclaim her final three campaigns...Pounded home 481 kills as a senior while leading the Sea Hawks to the CIF Division II State Semifinals...Deepest postseason run by RUHS since 1980...Tallied a school-record 35 put-aways in a 2003 playoff match against Brea Olinda en route to a second place finish in the Southern Section tournament...Coached by Tommy Chaffins...Named a Redondo Union Scholar-Athlete for her diligence in the classroom...Active in the Spirit Hawks.

Also starred for the TCA Volleyball Club, earning a spot on the 2005 Junior Olympic All-Tournament team in Salt Lake City....Helped her team to the 2006 Junior Olympic Championship.

Rebecca Lynn Saraceno was born on March 28, 1988 in Redondo Beach, Calif. to Betsy and Pat Saraceno...Has an older sister Jayci and younger sister Megan, her high school and club teammate...Has yet to declare a major at UCSB...Loves to eat sushi, read and listen to music while not on the court...
