Remaining with the Gauchos as an undergraduate assistant coach in 2003 is Courtney Guerra.
A three-year letterwinner at UCSB after transferring from Cal, Guerra put an exclamation point on her collegiate career by earning First Team All-Big West acclaim in 2002. As a senior she ranked fourth in the conference with 3.32 digs pre game, and also contributed 2.99 kills per game to help the Gauchos capture their first-ever outright league title.
Since her Gaucho career has ended, Guerra has gained coaching experience with the Santa Barbara Volleyball Club and has also been active on the competitive beach volleyball scene. Guerra will graduate from UCSB in the spring of 2004 with a degree in religious studies.
