AUSTIN, Texas - Gaucho Amy Haapanen concluded a historic sophomore season in the throws at the NCAA Championships with the completion of the discus on Friday at Austin Texas. Haapanen finished 23rd in the shot put, 25th in the hammer, and 27th in the discus.
Haapanen concluded a season in which she smashed the UCSB school records in the shot put, discus and hammer, and qualified for the national championship in all three events as well.
Haapanen put the shot 49' 7.75", tossed the discus 155' 10", and threw the hammer 167' 10" at the NCAA meet in Austin.
