High School -- Nwaba was champion of the the 300m hurdles at the 2007 LA City Section finals in her first year competing in that event... From 2003-2006, she suffered from "the high jump curse", finishing in second place at section finals each of those years. In 2007, her senior season, she finally broke the curse and took the championship... Qualified for the State Meet in 2006 and 2007... Was honored with the Sportsmanship Award and the Ralph Lathem Award during the course of her high school career... Four-year scholar athlete.
Personal -- Barbara is the oldest of six children... Has had so many nicknames that she's lost count... Enjoys photography and photo editing... Her idol is Wilma Rudolph.
