AUBURN, Ala. - UCSB's lone representative at the 2003 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Lindsay Dalonzo, swam the first of her two races today. Dalonzo finished 21st in the prelims of the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.90. She did not qualify for tonight's final.

Dalonzo will also swim the 200 backstroke which is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

Kirsty Coventry of Auburn won the 100 back prelim in a time of 52.89 followed by Arizona's Beth Botsford in 53.30 and NCAA and American recordholder in event Natalie Coughlin in third place with a time of 53.42.
