Schwalb Earns Top-20 Finish in 200 Fly at NCAA Championships

March 18, 2006

ATHENS, Georgia - UC Santa Barbara junior Jennifer Schwalb completed her run at the NCAA Championships with a top-20 finish in the 200 butterfly event and a 36th-place finish in the 100 butterfly.

Schwalb recorded a 2:00.10 in the prelims of the 200 butterfly, and while her time was not fast enough to advance her into the finals of the event, she did finish 19th out of 50 competitors.

In addition to her performance in the 200 butterfly, Schwalb's time of 54.90 in the 100 butterfly earned her a 36th-place finish in that event.

"She's done a great job," said Gaucho head coach Gregg Wilson, who accompanied Schwalb to Athens.
