Sophomore outfielder Jessica Hejna powered the Gaucho softball team to a three-game sweep of Big West Conference rival Cal State Northridge, going seven-for-11 and scoring six runs in the series. In Saturday's opener, she scored the game-tying run in the bottom of the seventh as UCSB rallied from three down and then hit a game-wining single in the 10th to complete the 7-6 comeback. With the cameras of College Sports Television rolling Sunday, the Orange, Calif., native went three-for-three and ended the game in the fifth inning as her two-run homer to right field gave Santa Barbara a 9-0 mercy rule victory over the Matadors. Hejna was also named Big West and Santa Barbara Athletic Roundtable Player of the Week for her efforts.
