IRVINE, Calif. - Senior forward Jennifer Borcich, who scored the game-winning goal in UC Santa Barbara's victories over Idaho and Utah State last weekend, was selected Big West Women's Soccer Player of the Week, it was announced today.

Borcich, the Big West's leading scorer with 12 goals and five assists for 29 points, scored the only goal in Friday's 1-0 win at Idaho. On Sunday, she assisted on a goal by Lindsay Steinriede, and then in the 79th minute, she scored the game-winner in the 2-1 decision over Utah State.

The weekend wins by UCSB improved the team's league record to 7-1-1, good for a first-place tie with Cal State Fullerton. The Gauchos, however, earned the top-seed in this weekend's Big West Tournament by virtue of a 1-0 win over the Titans on October 8.
