Senior forward Jennifer Borcich scored two goals, including the 50th of her
career, to lead the UC Santa Barbara women's soccer team to wins at Cal
State Fullerton and UC Riverside last weekend. On Friday night, Borcich
scored the only goal of the match in the 77th minute as the Gauchos edged
Cal State Fullerton, 1-0. On Sunday at UC Riverside, she scored in the 88th
minute to tie the score at 1-1 and send the match into overtime where the
Gauchos scored again to win 2-1. The loss was Riverside's first of the
year. Borcich leads UCSB and the Big West with ten goals and 24 points and
she became just the third player in school history to score 50 or more
goals. The Gauchos are now unbeaten in their last six matches and they are
in first-place in the Big West with a perfect 4-0-0 record. Overall, UCSB
is 9-4-1.
