SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara Athletics Department will once again offer season tickets for men's and women's soccer, with several new packages and benefits available to Gaucho fans in 2008, Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing Joe Castiglia announced Thursday.
In addition to not having to wait in ticket lines at Harder Stadium, season ticket holders can enjoy several other benefits including; one free game, pre-paid parking passes, access to a VIP entrance, seating in a reserved season ticket holder section, and $10 in Gaucho Bucks, which can be spent on the latest gear at the UCSB Athletics Team Shop.
Fans will be able to choose from several unique ticket packages. A men's soccer adult season ticket (10 games) with parking is priced at $88 ($63 without parking), while a women's soccer adult season ticket (nine games) with parking will run $79 ($56 without parking).
New in 2008 is the addition of Combo Packs and Family Packs.
The Combo Packs, which can save fans over 50%, include all 10 men's home games and all nine women's home games. With parking, an adult Combo Pack will cost $108 ($63 without parking). A Youth Combo Pack is also being offered for fans 13 years of age and under for $30.
A pair of Family Pack options are also available, one for men's soccer only and another for men's and women's soccer combined. Both packages offer two adult season tickets, two youth season tickets, and parking. The men's package costs $211, while the combined package is $231.
The 2008 men's schedule features home matches against Wake Forest, the 2007 national champion, Air Force, Kentucky, and Evansville. The Kentucky tilt will be televised nationally by Fox Soccer Channel. The season gets underway Aug. 23 when the Gauchos host cross-town rival Westmont in an exhibition match.
The women's team, which boasts a recruiting class ranked 38th in the nation by Soccer Buzz Magazine, kicks off its season Aug. 16, also with an exhibition match against Westmont. The Gauchos will play host to San Diego, Sacramento State, Washington State, and powerful Tennessee, as well as regular Big West Conference rivals, at Harder Stadium.
