Gaucho Trio to Compete in W-League During Summer of 2008

April 10, 2008

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Three current members of the UC Santa Barbara women's soccer team - Tammy Lenham, Jacqui Simon and Natalie Weeks - will spend their summer playing in the W-League of the United Soccer. They will compete as members of the Ventura County Fusion.

The 2008 W-League campaign features a 41-team format in four conferences playing 12 or 14 regular season matches. The top women's players throughout the world compete in the USL W-League through the summer months.

In addition to featuring international and former professional stars, elite collegiate players have the opportunity to compete in the league while maintaining their collegiate eligibility.

Action for the 2008 W-League kicks off in May.
