Sophomore forward Jennifer Borcich scored two goals in a three-minute span midway through the first half to lead the UC Santa Barbara women's soccer team to a 6-0 shutout win at the University of Idaho.
Borcich scored an unassisted goal at the 25:56 mark in the first half. At the 28:22 mark, Borcich gave UCSB a 2-0 lead off of an assist from Alma Martinez.
Martinez scored a goal of her own at the 60:57 mark off of an assist from Borcich. Kristyn Bright made it 4-0 Gauchos with a goal in the 63rd minute. Bright's goal was assisted by Alex Richey. Richey scored UCSB's fifth goal of the match at the 78:00 mark off an assist from Jen Codington. Bright capped the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 82:18 mark.
Freshman goalkeeper Jamie Considine got the start and picked-up her tenth win of the season.
The Gauchos are now 10-3-2 on the year, 3-0-1 in Big West play. They are unbeaten in their last six matches. Idaho drops to 2-10-3. UCSB returns to action on Friday, October 25 when they host UC Irvine in a 7:00 p.m. match at Harder Stadium.
