Women's Soccer Blanked On The Road By Pepperdine, 1-0

Malibu, Calif. - Pepperdine's Kate Desmond scored a goal at the 23:26 mark of the match on Sunday, giving the Waves a 1-0 victory over the UC Santa Barbara women's soccer team.

The shutout was the first in ten matches suffered by the Gauchos this season.

UCSB had nine shots on goal, many of them dangerous, but Pepperdine goalkeeper Lindsay Brouillette recorded seven saves in the win. Gaucho goalkeeper Mary Gleason also faced nine shots, and came up with a pair of saves.

The loss drops UCSB to 4-5-1 on the season. Pepperdine remains unbeaten with a 7-0-3 record. The Gauchos will open Big West play at Pacific on Friday, October 12, with a 7:00 p.m. match. They will travel to Cal State Northridge on Sunday, October 14, for another 7:00 p.m. contest.
