Northridge, Calif. - Melissa Cleal scored a goal for Cal State Northridge at the 85:06 mark as the Matadors nipped UC Santa Barbara by a score of 1-0 on Sunday night.

The Gauchos outshot Cal State Northridge 9-8, but for the second straight match, could not put the ball into the net. Mary Gleason went the distance in goal for the Gauchos and played well, making a pair of saves.

UCSB played the match without one of its top players. April Loveland injured the medial collateral ligament in her left knee in Friday night's loss to Villanova and was unavailable for the match.

with the defeat, UCSB drops to 2-3-1 on the season. They will host Westmont College at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night at Harder Stadium
