Young played for Santa Rosa United Riptide where she was coached by Dave Schaffer...Also played three seasons for current Gaucho associate head coach Mike Friesen...She played midfield, sweeper and forward for the Riptide...Captained the Riptide for seven years...Attended Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa...In her four-year career, Young had 24 goals and 66 assists at Montgomery HS...Two-time North Bay League Most Valuable Player...Selected First Team All-Empire and All-North Bay League in 2001 and 2002...Team captain in 2001 and 2002...Young helped lead Montgomery to a pair of league titles and two North Coast Section finals.
