Speace played all 22 games her sophomore season, starting 21 times...Was the anchor of a Gaucho defense that allowed just 23 goals in 22 matches and had a goals against average of 1.05...Her two shots of the season were on goal, although she did not score or post an assist.
2007
As a freshman, Julia Speace was one of the most pleasant surprises on the team...Forced in to a major role because of several injured teammates, she appeared in 19 games and started 15 of them...Speace attempted four shots from her defensive position, two of which were on goal...She did not score and did not post an assist.
CLUB/HIGH SCHOOL
Speace prepped at Santa Margarita High School where she played for Chuck Morales...As a senior in 2007, she was named First Team All-Trinity League, Second Team All-CIF Division 1 and Second Team All-Orange County...Speace was also chosen the Trinity League Defensive MVP and she earned the same honor from Santa Margarita...Also a First Team All-Serra League selection...Named her team's defensive MVP as a junior as well...Helped Santa Margarita to a pair of Serra League titles...At the club level, she played for West Coast Premier and was coached by Gus Castaneda...Helped West Coast Premier to the Under-19 Blues Cup championship, the Cal South Premier League title and the USL Super Y League championship.

Born February 6, 1989 in Newport Beach, Calif...Speace was a four-year Scholar Athlete at Santa Margarita HS...CSF member...Enjoys snowboarding, surfing, tennis and travel...She has traveled extensively in Italy, Spain and Portugal...Speace volunteers for Soccer for Hope, Surfrider Foundation and Catholic Charties school building project in Mexico...Majoring in communication studies with a minor in film and media studies...Would like to get into public relations or some other media related field...The daughter of Cassandra and Thomas Speace.
