Sanchez was one out of only two freshmen to play in all games this season, starting one of them...The first goal of her collegiate career was in season opener at Nevada where she netted her only shot on goal during the match...Her other goal of the season was a game winner at UC Davis...She took the most shots out of any Gaucho freshman this season with 16, eight of which were on goal...Posted assists in two games, a 3-0 shutout against Cal State Northridge and 1-1 tie with Cal Poly.

Alissa Sanchez attended Cathedral Catholic High School...Played for Dawn Lee...Helped to lead Cathedral Catholic to Western League and CIF titles in each of her last three years...Scored 16 goals and had 15 assists as a senior, earning All-Western League and All-CIF San Diego Section honors...As a junior, Sanchez had 13 goals and 15 assists and was named All-Western League...At the club level, she played for the San Diego Surf, which won the 2007 Surf Cup...Coached by Colin Chesters.

Born October 2, 1990 in San Diego, Calif....The daughter of Rich and Angie Sanchez...Was a Scholar Athlete in both soccer and track...In addition to her soccer prowess, Sanchez was an accomplished sprinter in high school, earning First Team All-Western League in the 100 meters and Second Team All-Western League in the 200 meters...Was also an All-San Diego County honoree as a sprinter and a qualifier for the California State Championships...Undeclared major.
