Santa Barbara, Calif.-

In front of 400 fans at the Thunderdome Friday night, Santa Barbara put on their best showing of the season. Recording a season best score of 187.625, the Gauchos came up short of winning the meet, as the Air Force Academy scored 192.800.

UCSB individual competitors were unable to finish in the top three of any event, but they were knocking on the door as they took home two 4th place finishes and three 5th place finishes.

Junior Talia Gamm led the way for Santa Barbara, scoring a team high 9.725 on the floor exercise, which landed her in fourth place. Senior Captain Jen Rudy capped her career with another fourth place finish as she scored 9.625.

In the individual all-around, Junior Ryanne Strohm , the Gauchos most consistent gymnasts, was again on her game scoring a combined 37.600, good enough for fifth place. She was followed by Sophomore Lesley Ross (37.100) and Freshmen standout Nicole Longnecker (36.725).

Senior Kim Broughton of the Air Force Academy, was the top finisher of the evening as she landed in first place in individual all around, uneven parallel bars, and vault.

UCSB closes out their season, in just over two weeks (March 23), at the MPSF conference finals held on campus at the Air Force Academy. Santa Barbara is currently in ninth place in the MPSF Conference, if they move up one spot in the conference finals they will reach the national championships held next month at the University of Massachusetts.
