SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - On Monday, March 22, NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship action continues in UC Santa Barbara's Thunderdome as third-seeded Houston faces the 11th-seeded host, UCSB, in the Thunderdome at 8:00 p.m.

The Cougars (28-3) advanced to second round play by rallying to defeat No. 14 Wisconsin-Green Bay 62-47 on Saturday, while the Gauchos (26-6) scored a 76-49 upset of sixth-seeded Colorado in the other first round game played in the Thunderdome.

Both schools are in search of their first-ever berth in the NCAA Regional Semifinals, which will take place in Hartford, Conn., on March 27. The only previous meeting between UH and UCSB came in 1992, when the Gauchos won an NCAA First Round game by an 80-69 margin in Santa Barbara
