Milos Golic Named Golden1 Athlete of The Week

Dec. 1, 2008

Milos Golic totaled 10 goals to help lead the Gauchos to a fifth-place finish at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament Nov. 28-30 at Pepperdine.

The sophomore utility player led the team with his 10 goals over three games including a weekend-high five points in the 13-12 sudden victory overtime win against Long Beach State.

Golic, a native of Belgrade, Serbia, finished the season with a team-leading 82 goals and an MPSF-leading 3.04 goals per game average. His 82 goals are the most scored in a single season by a Gaucho since Pete Zamoyski collected 89 in 1990. After just two seasons with UCSB, Golic is tied for 13th amongst Gaucho career goals leaders with senior teammate Miles Price (135 goals).

The Gauchos finished the 2008 season with a 17-11 overall record, marking the program's third consecutive winning season.
