The American Water Polo Coaches Association has released the 2003-04 Men's All-Academic Team. The athletes represent achievement on three levels: Excellent 3.20-3.40 gpa , Superior 3.41-3.70 gpa, and Outstanding 3.71-4.0 gpa.
Matt Milich, a freshman driver from Pasadena, Calif., leads UCSB's list of honorees with a 3.72 gpa as a double major in psychology and economics. Sophomore driver Paul Helfer (Honolulu, Hawaii) is a member of the Superior list with a 3.66 gpa in business economics.
Doug Arthur and Andrew Schoneberger, UCSB's second leading scorers last season, round out the academic honorees. Both Arthur and Schoneberger finished the 2003 season with 36 goals. Arthur, a senior driver from San Diego, Calif., finished his career with 79 career goals. Arthur boasts a 3.50 gpa in psychology. Schoneberger, a junior driver from Santa Barbara, Calif., has a 3.43 gpa as an art studio major.
