Larry Milliken returns for the third year of his second stint as an assistant coach to Ken Preston.
Milliken, a three-time All-American at BYU-Hawai'i from 1966-69, also assisted Preston on the UC Santa Barbara bench for seven seasons from 1987-92.
"Boomer" began his coaching career in 1979 as a player-assistant coach with the Santa Barbara Spikers of the International Volleyball Association. He became head coach of the IVA's Tucson Sky in 1980. Not only did Milliken coach in the IVA, but he also played for the Sky and the Spikers for six years from 1975-80.
Also as a player, Milliken was a member of the United States National Team, competing in the 1970 World Games and the 1971 Pan American Games. He earned USVBA Open All-American honors three straight seasons from 1970-72. Milliken continued his playing career in Spain in 1974 and 1975 before joining the IVA.
Milliken is also an accomplished tennis official. Certified by the United States Tennis Association, he has been officiating for eight years. His assignments have included four U.S. Opens, the Mercedes Benz Classic at UCLA, the Pacific Light Championships at Indian Wells, and numerous collegiate events.
Also an avid fisherman, Milliken resides in Santa Barbara.
