A 2006 graduate and four-year varsity player for Loyola High School in Los Angeles...Played setter and libero for head coach Michael Boehle...Cubs were CIF Division I champions in 2003, 2004, and 2005...Loyola won Mission League titles all four years he played...Collected many accolades as a senior, including league and team MVP, Second Team All-CIF, Volleyball Magazine All-American, and Fab 50 recognition...First Team All-CIF and First Team All-Mission League in 2005...Chosen to the Los Angeles Times All-Star Team as a junior...Second Team All-Mission League as a sophomore.

Played four years for Southern California Volleyball Club and coach Danny Killian...SCVC was the 2006 AAU national champion on the beach.

Andrew James McGuire was born Jan. 27, 1988 in Manhattan Beach, Calif....Parents are Tim and Colleen McGuire...Has a younger sister, Megan...Holds a 3.78 GPA as a communication major at UCSB...Hobbies include golf, bocce, and beach volleyball...Backs the LA Lakers...Enjoys reading Hemingway, but lists F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel "The Great Gatsby" as his top read...Favorite movie is "Pirates of the Caribbean"...Geology is his most interesting class at UCSB...Winning a third CIF title against Mira Costa is one of his top sporting moments...Also recruited by Pepperdine and UCLA.
