After a gutsy and impressive performance in the 2006 Big West Championship
10,000m race, this young and meditative distance runner looks to make even
greater strides in his sophomore season. Coming off a solid cross-county
season, the freshman coolly drove up through the pack in last year's
Conference Championship 10k, earning a surprising 6th place in a personal
best time of 31:20.52. Heading into the 2007 track season, Waleed is in
phenomenal shape and looks to score even more points for the Gauchos.
