2007 Season -- Was a member of the 2007 record-holding 4x100 team that ran 40.94, eclipsing the previous record of 41.01 set in 1986.
2006 Season -- Suffered a hamstring tear that limited his ability to compete and train for the hurdles... Worked on his upper-body strength and learned to throw the javelin.
2005 Season -- Set a career best in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.12, just missing the Big West Championship qualifying mark.
2004 Season -- Redshirted his first season as a Gaucho.
High School -- As a senior, Nino was the track & field team captain... He was ranked 15th in the state for the 300m hurdles and became the school record holder at that event with a time of 38.80... Garnered all-league and all-section honors in both hurdling events in 2003... Also was all-league and all-section in the 300m hurdles in 2001 and 2002... His team's 4x400m relay won the North Coast Sectional Championships... Was league champion in both the 300m and 110m hurdles... As a sophomore, he was 7th in the 400m hurdles and 11th in the 110m hurdles at the National Junior Olympics... Was also 2002 team captain of the football team and was all-league as a defensive back.
Personal -- Nino is fluent in Thai... Enjoys playing basketball and watching the History Channel... Lists travelling to big meets as his favorite aspect of NCAA track and field.
