2007 Season -- Qualified for Conference in the 400m hurdles for the second year in a row...Finished in 5th place and scored four points for the squad...Notched a personal-best 53.31 at the Cal Poly dual meet, an improvement over his previous time by more than a second.
2006 Season -- A disciplined hurdler, Guzman snuck-up on the pack in 2006, fighting into the final heat at the Big West Conference Championships... Had an impressive time of 55.68 in the 400m hurdles going into the finals, but he pulled his hamstring in the first leg of the race. However, Elmer managed to summon the strength to hurdle through another 300 meters and finish the race.
High School -- Had the 10th fastest California state mark in the 300m Hurdles... Won his league finals in the 110m and 300m Hurdles.
Personal -- Majoring in pharmacology... Enjoys painting and flying kites (not simultaneously)... Favorite music includes Bob Dylan and Iron and Wine.
