Tetlo Emmen will volunteer as an assistant coach throughout the 2008 season.
Emmen was a member of the UCSB Track and Field team from 2003-2007. During his Gaucho career, he earned All-American honors, was ranked as high as 11th in the entire nation in the 800m (including professionals), broke the school record in the 800m, and at one time had the fourth-fastest mark in the United States at 1:46.89.
Emmen's guidance and experience should prove to be a valuable tool for this season's young group of 800m runners.
