SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara men's tennis program will host an exhibition match Saturday, November 22, 2003, featuring several well-known names in professional tennis. The exhibition match and fundraiser take place at the Tennis Club of Santa Barbara at 1 pm.
The exhibition match features the top-ranked doubles team of Mike and Bob Bryan. The Bryans are U.S. Davis Cup Team members and were the 2003 French Open doubles champions. Also playing in the exhibition match are Jim Grabb and Rick Leach. Both Grabb and Leach were ranked No. 1 in doubles at one point, Grabb in 1989 and Leach in 1990. Leach came out of retirement in 2001 to extend his doubles title streak to 15 consecutive years, the longest on the ATP Tour. In 1998, Grabb became the oldest player to finish in the Top 100 ATP Tour doubles rankings.
The auction items at the fundraiser following the match include backstage passes to the U.S. Open and more. The cost of the exhibition match and fundraiser is $100.
The festivities kick-off with a Kid's Clinic at 10 am, featuring UCSB men's and women's tennis players. The cost of the clinic is $25.
