The men's gymnastics team continued their outstanding play of late, extending their win streak to three meets and again breaking a number of school records. The Gauchos dominated Pac-10 schools Arizona State and Washington on their way to a school record team score of 205.625.

The 14th ranked men's gymnastics has broken 10 school records this season, 9 in the last two meets, along the way making it more and more likely they will reach the top 12 and a place in the National Championships. The war m weather was obviously familiar and comfortable for the Gauchos as they set broke four school records at Arizona State Saturday night.

Santa Barbara was led by record breaking Junior Michael Kelley who swept up three individual titles on the way to a school record score of 52.175 in the individual all around, which gave Kelley a fourth first place title. Kelley was on fire all meet, achieving personal season high scores in all three of his first place finishes. On the still rings Kelley scored a 8.850, on the uneven parallel bars he scored 8.450, and on the horizontal bars he scored 8.850, all good enough to bring home individual titles.

Kelley wasn't the only Gaucho to break a record, sophomore Andre Badilla got in on the fun as well, recording a Santa Barbara best of 9.200 on the pommel horse. Junior Geoffrey Howell who already owns the record on the floor exercise, bettered another school record, this time on the vault with a score of 9.400 (previously set at 9.300).

As the school records indicate the entire team was hitting their routines all meet, bringing home 5 of the 6 individual titles to go along with the all-around team title. Look for Santa Barbara to continue the outstanding play as they compete in Rob Gym for the first time this season. Come out and welcome home the Gauchos on Saturday afternoon at 1pm, when UCSB takes on Cal- Berkeley, Stanford and Illinois in what promised to be one of the most closely competed meets of the year.
