UCSB Closes Strong to Finish Fifth at Cal Poly's Fidelity National Title Intercollegiate

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Brian Six and Joey Ramos each shot 3-over par 219s to tie for eighth-place and lead UC Santa Barbara to a solid fifth-place tie at the Fidelity National Title Intercollegiate hosted by Cal Poly at Cypress Ridge Golf Cours in Arroyo Grande, Calif.

The Gauchos tied with UCLA for fifth-place. UC Riverside won the tournament with an 866.

Six shot a final round 71 and Ramos shot 73. UCSB shot 300 in the third round to move from eighth to the fifth-place tie.

Other Gaucho players included Joe Ryon, who finished in a 25th-place tie with a 228, Sean Meier, who shot a 242 to finish tied for 62nd-place and Leigh Silver, who tied for 66th with a 245.

UCSB returns to action on Monday-Tuesday, April 4-5, when it hosts the Bite/Pacific Coast Intercollegiate at La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc, Calif. The 18-team field will tee-off at 8:00 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday. There will be 36 holes played on the first day of the tournament.
