Four of the five UCSB players in the tournament finished among the top-50. In addition to Hollenbeck, senior Joe Ryon shot a 7-over par 220 to finish tied for 21st and sophomore Marty Melcher shot a 221 to finish tied for 24th. Sophomore Tony Verna shot a 15-over par 228 and tied for 47th and freshman Matt Grush was at 229, 16-over par, and finished in a tie for 52nd.

With its sixth-place finish, Santa Barbara has now finished in the top-10 five times in six tournaments during the 2006-07 campaign. The Gauchos bounced-back from a 12th-place finish at San Diego's Farms Collegiate to finish sixth in the prestigious USF Triumph.

UCSB returns to the links for competition on March 26 when it will play in the Stevinson Ranch Invitational. The event will run from March 26 through March 27. After that, the Gauchos will host the Oglio Pacific Coast Intercollegiate at the Alisal River Golf Club, on April 2-3.
