Tyler Weir was born March 23, 1989 in Boulder, Colo....The son of Chase and Vicki Weir...Played for Murl Hendrickson at Fairview High School in Boulder, Colo., and Steve Armstrong at La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, Calif....As a junior and senior at La Costa Canyon, Weir was named All-Palomar League...Helped La Costa Canyon to the CIF San Diego Section Championship as a senior, and to Palomar League titles as a junior and senior...As a senior, he placed second in the Palomar League Championships...While still at Fairview HS, he helped his team to a third-place team finish at the Colorado State Championships in his freshman and sophomore seasons...Individually, Weir finished ninth at the Colorado State Championships as both a freshman and sophomore...Had his best stroke average as a sophomore when he recorded a 72.8 average...As a senior at La Costa Canyon, Weir averaged 73.4 shots per round...The best round of his career was a 64 at Cimmaron GC in Palm Springs...Placed eighth in he San Diego County Amateur and fourth in the San Diego City Amateur...Weir had three top-10 finishes in the AJGA...His favorite courses include Red Sky Ranch GC and Makena GC...Considers long irons his strength and putting his weakness...Also competed in baseball and football as a high school athlete...Plans to major in business economics...Would like to have a career as a professional golfer.
