Freshman forward James Nunnally will have a chance to gain playing time at a wing spot for the Gauchos...He is a very dynamic athlete and a very good open court player...Nunnally is also a good perimeter shooter.

Nunnally attended Weston Ranch High School in Stockton, Calif....Led Weston Ranch to three consecutive CIF Sac-Joaquin Section playoff appearances...As a junior, he paced the program to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III championship game...As a senior in 2007-08, he helped Weston Ranch to a perfect 14-0 record in the Valley Oak League...Following his senior season, Nunnally was named All-State, Valley Oak League Most Valuable Player, All-CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, First Team All-Valley Oak League, and Stockton Record Player of the Year...Was a McDonalds All-American nominee...Averaged 22.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.2 blocked shots per game in 2007-08...Scored a career-high 32 points against Ceres HS...Overall, Nunnally had five games of 30 or more points and 18 games of 20 or more during his senior season...Pulled in a career-high 14 rebounds three times and he was in double-figures 10 times...In a victory over Edison HS, he had a triple-double, going for 29 points, 14 rebounds, and a career-high 10 assists...Made 34 three-pointers...As a junior, Nunnally averaged 19 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game...Named Stockton Record Player of the Year, All-State, All-CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, and All-Valley Oak League as a junior...Guided Weston Ranch to a CIF Sac-Joaquin Section championship game in 2006-07...Averaged 10 points and 8.4 rebounds as a sophomore in 2005-06...Coached by Bill Slikker.
