UCSB Baseball Announces Dates for All-Star and Pitching & Hitting Camps

March 23, 2008

Santa Barbara, Calif. -
Hitting & Pitching Camp
The UCSB Baseball Program announced Saturday that the 2008 Hitting & Pitching Camp will take place on April 13th. The camp is designed for the high school player who is looking to play at the next level. Players will have the opportunity to work and receive quality instruction from the Gaucho coaching staff.

The camp will take place immediately following the completion of the UCSB baseball game versus UC-Davis. All participants in the camp will receive free admission into the game.

This camp session will consist of a timed 60-yard dash, batting practice, followed by group instruction; a pitching and throwing long toss program, and a simulated game.

This is a great camp to showcase your talents while competing in a challenging and competitive environment. The Gaucho coaching staff will run the entire camp.

To participate in this camp, candidates must graduate from high school in 2009 or 2010.

All-Star Camp
In addition, UCSB Baseball also announced that the fourth annual All-Star Camp will be held from July 13-17.

The All-Star Camp is designed for the baseball player who is looking to enhance his skill level in a competitive environment. Players will have the opportunity to work and receive quality instruction from the Gaucho coaching staff, current Gaucho players, area scouts and former Major Leaguers.

This camp session will consist of daily baseball training with competitive games. Each player will be tested and evaluated according to a college and professional scale. We are seeking the athlete that is committed to playing at the next level. The camp will educate and inform about the recruiting process, admissions into college and the mental game of baseball with guest speakers each night.

Overnight campers will reside at Tropicana Gardens apartment complex in Isla Vista for the duration of the camp. All meals will be provided for both overnight and commuter campers. Transportation will be provided upon request, to and from the Santa Barbara Airport. Each player will receive a jersey, hat, Gaucho T-Shirt and player-evaluation.
