Earned the Gaucho closer position early in the season and became the most reliable and effective arm out of the pen...Garnered Second Team All-Big West honors after a record-setting season as a junior...Set a Gaucho single-season record and earned the top spot in the Big West with 36 appearances...Finished the year with a team-best 2.29 ERA in 55 innings pitched...His ERA was also the best in the Big West, with the second best ERA set at 2.38, and ranked seventh on the Gaucho All-Time single-season record list...Finished 31 of the 36 games that he appeared...Also set a single-season record for fewest earned runs surrendered in 50 or more innings pitched with 14...Earned the second spot in Gaucho career appearances with 75, just six behind the top spot...Tallied 33 strikeouts while walking only 13 batters in those innings en route to his 5-3 record...His five wins ranked second on the Gauchos, and the 33 strikeouts placed him third on the team...Was tops on the squad in saves with seven...His seven saves also ranks sixth on the Gaucho All-Time single-season record list...Tallied a season-high four strikeouts in three innings pitched against UC Irvine on April 22 to earn the win...Pitched a season-long five innings against Cal Poly on March 10 en route to earning the victory...Did not allow a run in his last six appearances of the season...Opponents batted a measly .241 against the submariner, also tops on the staff...Recorded two runners picked-off, ranking second in that category...Also earned victories over Loyola Marymount on March 3, Dartmouth on March 16 and Cal State Northridge on April 29.

The walk-on overcame all odds to battle his way onto a competitive pitching staff...As a true freshman, he appeared in twelve games and tossed 9.1 innings for UCSB.
Summer Ball
Played in the Cape Cod League in the summer of 2006, earning innings on the hill for the Chatham A's...Led the team in appearances with 17 and also tallied the most games finished...Sported the second lowest ERA in the entire Cape Cod League with an incredible 0.84 mark...Pitched for the Rockville Express in the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League in 2005...Sported a 1.88 ERA in 19 appearances...Finished with an even 2-2 record...Posted 24 strikeouts and held opponents to a measly .173 batting average...Earned the win in the league's All-Star game on July 18 with one inning pitched and one strikeout.
