Volunteer Coach
After a successful playing career at UC Santa Barbara, Matt McColgan returns as a first-year Volunteer Coach. A former Gaucho catcher and team-captain, McColgan's responsibility will be working with Gaucho hitters and catchers, as well as coaching first base and the bullpen.
A graduate of Saint Francis High School in La Canada, Calif., McColgan graduated from UCSB in June 2008 with a BA in Philosophy and plans to attend law school in the fall of 2009. His parents are Michael and Robin Seifert and Michael McColgan.
