Chuck Huggins pitched six scoreless innings en route to picking up a 7-0 win at 12th-ranked Pepperdine Sunday.
Huggins, a junior left-hander, surrendered just three hits, struck out four, and walked four Wave batters to remain perfect on the year at 3-0.
Huggins' lone struggle came in the first inning as he walked two and gave up a single to load the bases with two outs. However, he struck out Ryan Heroy looking to end the threat.
In 11 appearances this season (two starts), Huggins holds a team-best 2.08 ERA. He's given up five runs on nine hits and struck out 20 batters through 21.2 innings. Opponents are batting a lowly .132 against Huggins.
Huggins also has wins against San Jose State and Cal State Northridge this year.
