SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara had nine student-athletes honored as the Big West Conference announced its 2007 Fall All-Academic Team recently. A total of 119 student-athletes from nine member institutions were named to the team, covering the sports of women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's cross country.

To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes have to maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, complete one full academic year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received (at least a sophomore academically), and compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.

For the second consecutive year, the UCSB women's cross country led the Gauchos with six honorees while men's soccer, women's volleyball, and men's cross country each placed one student-athlete on the All-Academic team.
