Despite having not played a single match in their 2009-2010 season, the UCSB men's volleyball team is already looking forward to their future, having signed two top recruits to the Class of 2011 during the early signing period.

A sophomore middle blocker, Schmidt missed the entire 2008 season due to a torn patella tendon. She has bounced back and become stronger than ever, leading the Gauchos with a hitting percentage of .366, which is second in the Big West Conference. Full Story

UCSB senior Scott Smith finished in fourth place at the NCAA West Regional Cross Country meet in Springfield, Ore. Smith qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships with his finish.
